From Farm to Family: Milk’s Journey to the Market

Ever wonder where your udderly delicious milk comes from? Well, the process is more farm to table than you may have thought! Here’s how the milk production process moo-ves along!

The process starts at your local California dairy farm, which is usually no more than 300 miles away from your local market. Cows are milked daily and milk is stored on the farm for no more than two days to preserve freshness. The milk is then transported to the dairy processor where it is quality checked and sorted. It’s then packaged and shipped to your local dairy aisle, and finally makes it’s way to your family’s table!
